
Pre-K Program Entry Requirements
The Pre-K program at Madinah Academy is split into two different age groups. 3 year old students are placed in the Pre-K3 program and 4 year old students are placed in the Pre-K4 program.
For entry into the Pre-K3 Program, your child must have turned 3 by September 1st of the academic year.
For entry into the Pre-K4 Program, your child must have turned 4 by September 1st of the academic year.
Your child must be independently toilet trained. In other words, he or she must be able to take down and pull up pants/underpants with very little assistance.
Note: In case of major toilet accidents, parents are required to come to school to help clean up.
Your child must be able to communicate with and listen to the teacher. He or she should be able to do the following:
Tell the teacher if he or she needs to use the bathroom
Tell the teacher if he or she is feeling hungry or thirsty
Express emotions and frustrations
Perform simple tasks assigned by the teacher
Your child should be able to handle separation from parents.
Your child should be able to finish age-appropriate tasks and follow verbal instructions
Possible entry test given to prospective Pre-K4 students:
Your child will be asked to be build a simple structure using blocks and then demonstrate how to clean up toys.
Your child will also be asked to draw or write with a crayon. He or she should have enough focus to hold and at least scribble with a crayon on a piece of paper.
